Purpose
It is provided for use in the system of cathode protection of the underground metal structures (gas and oil pipelines, municipal engineering facilities and other structures) against electrochemical (ground) corrosion. Such circuit closers increase significantly efficiency and reliability of cathode protection of the underground metal structures with 100% redundancy and use of two converters: main and standby.

- Location category – 2, by GOST 15150-69 (installation in the rooms, under cover, in cabinets of complete devices);
- Degree of protection against contact with current-carrying parts and impact of the environments – IP31 by GOST 14254-96;
- Terminals providing mechanical connection (seamless) to the external circuits;
- Contactless (electron) switching of supplying voltage to the main and standby cathode protection converter, as well as load (anode grounding and protected structure) to the main or standby cathode protection converter.
Technical specifications
- simultaneous connection of two converters for cathode protection, main and standby with the following parameters:
— nominal supply voltage, variable, single-phase, 220V, with allowable ranges of (176…242)V;
— current consumed by each cathode protection converter from the supplying network: up to 32A;
— output voltage range of the cathode protection converter: up to 100V;
— maximum output current of each cathode protection converter: up to 100 A.
- Connection of the main and standby cathode protection converter to two separate feeders of the single-phase industrial network 220V, frequency 50Hz (energy efficiency class – 1);
- Connection of the main and standby cathode protection converter to one feeder of the single-phase industrial network 220V, frequency 50Hz is assumed;
- Provides flowing of the output current of the operating cathode protection converter to the load.
- Provides “cold” condition of the standby cathode protection converter.
- In case of failure (occurrence) of the supply voltage on the main feeder the time of switching to the main (standby) cathode protection converter makes 4…6 s.
- When output voltage on the main (standby)* feeder falls outside the limits of 170…250V disconnection of the main (standby)* cathode protection converter from the supplying network is provided within 4…6 s.* — if the standby cathode protection converter was in the operating mode.
- In case of presence of supply voltage on the main feeder and failure of output voltage of the main cathode protection the time of switching to the reserve cathode protection converter makes 50…60s.
- In case of presence of supply voltage on the main and standby feeders and further failure of output voltage of the main and standby cathode protection converter in 20…30 minutes, repeated switching of the main cathode protection converter shall be made. In case of absence of output voltage of the main cathode protection converter switching to the standby cathode protection converter shall be made in 50…60 s.
