Diode-resistor unit BDRM-10

Purpose

The diode-resistor unit BDRM-10 is designed for electrochemical protection of one or some underground metal structures (pipelines, cables, etc.) together with the cathode protection plant (for example, V-OPE-TM, V-OPED-M “KEDR”)

Features

• Can be used for distribution of the protective current from the rectifier to several (up to four) underground independent structures.
• Can be used as a polarized drain and regulated resistors with diodes for removal of harmful cross impact of adjacent utilities with segregated protection
• Units BDRM are produced with channels of forward and reverse conductance as agreed with the customer.

Operating principle

• Unit BDRM-10 operates together with the cathode protection plants for multiline (up to four lines) pipes.
• By setting a relevant resistance in the channels of unit BDRM the required protection potential is maintained from one operating cathode protection plant to all lines of the pipe close to that which is maintained on the main line of the pipe by means of the cathode protection plant.
• Unit BDRM permits to maintain the required protection potential on the couplings and communication cables, both from the independent cathode protection plant and from cathode protection plant working into the pipeline.

Operations conditions

The unit is designed for operation in the conditions of impact of the following climatic factors:

• upper value of the environment temperature +45?c;
• low value of the environment temperature -60?c;
• upper value of the relative humidity 98% at the temperature 25?c;
• atmosphere of I and II type by GOST 15150-69;
• climatic version of unit UHL of location category 1 by GOST 15150-69;
• the unit is designed for outdoor installation.
