Electric polarized drain EDP “Topol”

Purpose

• Electric polarized drain of EDP “Topol” type is designed for electrochemical protection of the underground metal structures (pipelines, cables, etc.) locating in the in the zone of effect of the ground currents appearing from the DC rail electric transport.

Features

• During replacing of the diodes it is not necessary to select them by identity of the volt-ampere characteristics.
• Regulation of the drainage current is conducted by changing of the number of the operating sections.

Operation principle

• The operation principle is based on maintenance of the required potential on the protected structure by means of drainage of the ground currents from this structure to the rail of the railway electric transport through the diode-resistor sections of the drain.

• Electric drainage provides reliable and stable operation in the conditions of effect of the following climatic factors:

• The climatic configuration of the drain U of location category 1 by GOST 15150-69; the drain is designed for outside installation.
