Rectifier V-OPED-M “Kedr”

Purpose

• Rectifiers V-OPE-TM are designed for cathode protection of the underground metal structures against electrochemical corrosion.

Features

• Setting of the required protection potential is made by manual switching of the secondary taps of the transformer.
• The rectifier’s circuit including the electron circuit of protection against external and internal overloads and short circuits is simplified.
• The simplified circuit provides high reliability, low cost and stability of operation of the rectifiers in the conditions of high industrial interferences, reduced weight and decreased dimensions.
• A specially developed structure provides a small voltage control step.
• The control unit is interchangeable in all four configurations of the rectifier.
• The rectifier circuit provides drainage of the ground currents from the protected structure (pipe) to the anode ground electrode when the supply main voltage is absent.

Operation principle

• The operation principle of the rectifier is based in preliminary reduction of the circuit voltage by means of the power transformer and rectification thereof by the bridge diode-thyristor rectifier.
• Output voltage is regulated by switching of the manual switching of the transformer secondary taps brought to the terminal block. Switching is conducted by means of four jumpers.
