+7 495 654-29-15 info@energofin.ruPPD is intended to divert AC that is induced by the electromagnetic radiation impact of high-voltage power transmission lines (PTL) and other high-voltage sources from underground metal structures. The PPD has no effect on the protective potential provided for the protected structure by the electrochemical protection.
PPDs are recommended for areas where PTL may pose a hazard for the pipeline, namely:
- in the event the pipeline and PTL are running in parallel directions;
- in places where the pipeline and PTL intersect;
- in places where the pipeline and HVPTL converge.
The PPD also prevents damage to electronic devices connected with the pipeline, and eliminates the possibility of electric shock from induced current for the staff.
The presence of lightning protection device in the PPD design provides protection from power surges and lightening that may occur if there is a short-circuit of power line to the ground near the PPD.
